Radiohead in Atlanta May 8th!!!

US tour dates have appeared on their website. They will be at Lakewood Amphitheater on Thursday May 8th. Tickets go on sale at W.A.S.T.E. this Thursday February 14th and I'm guessing at Ticketmaster on Saturday, February 16th. Thanks to Cable And Tweed for being on top of this. I will be spending a ridiculous amount of money this week on concert tickets.

New Radiohead Album Out In 10 Days!

Radiohead suddenly has a new album called In Rainbows finished. You can purchase a digital download now that you will receive in 10 Days. You can pre-order the "discbox" which includes the CD, a bonus CD, the vinyl, bonus tracks, and the digital download and receive it in December. The "discbox" costs 40 Euros which is very pricey in terms of the US Dollar, but you can choose whatever you want to pay for the digital download. They currently don't have a record label so I'm guessing that is why they can do something like this. Radiohead have always been pioneers in just about everything including marketing (like not releasing singles of Kid A/Amnesiac), so it is really cool to see a band try to completely cut out the need for a record label in times like these. I can't wait to hear this thing.

Smashing Pumpkins Announce Nine Asheville Shows!!!

Check this out:

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced nine unprecedented shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

The Asheville shows mark the first time the Pumpkins will have played a residency since their four gigs at the Double Door in Chicago in 1994 before the release of Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.
Fans attending the Orange Peel shows are invited to capture the concerts with audio and video recorders.

General admission tickets for these all-ages shows go on sale Sunday, May 20. For the Asheville show, tickets ($20.00 each) will go on sale at 1:00 PM Eastern at www.theorangepeel.net or www.ticketweb.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for these shows will be available through internet ONLY. Tickets will NOT be available at either box offices, charge-by-phone or ticket outlets. Two-ticket limit per person. Purchaser must pick up tickets at the box office night-of-show only. Ticket-holders must immediately enter the venue. Photo ID required for ticket pick-up. Tickets are non-transferable. No refunds or exchanges. A service charge is added to each ticket price.

They are also doing a residency in San Fransisco after that, but who cares about that. Pitchfork has more on this story. I will be living in Asheville for about a week. This is too awesome.
