What up In The ATL?

It's Atlanta Superstar Week!

Wednesday night we got a big show for you. We've got two of Atlanta's biggest music icons, Preston Craig and Kenny Crucial (Mack Messiah), performing live. Plus some great up-and-coming bands like Morning State, The Pendletons, and Delta Co. On top of all that, it's to raise money for Atlanta's Refugee Community. Be there:

And that's not all kiddies. The Atlanta superstars are all over the place this week with a very exciting line-up Friday night at the Variety Playhouse. This town's greatest hipster bands, Black Lips, Deerhunter, Snowden, and The Selmanaires will all be on one stage together:

If for some weird reason you aren't into that show, GWAR will be at The Masquerade Friday night. Saturday night Atlanta superstar week continues with Anna Kramer opening for Southern Culture On The Skids at the Earl. Next Monday night you can choose between a Shannon Hoon-less Blind Melon at the Masquerade or seeing The Sword at the Earl.

Cool Winter shows that you needs to knows:

The much-anticipated-by-me new The Mars Volta album, Bedlam In Goliath, is not going to be released until January 29th of next year. An old school vid for you:

The Langerado Music Festival in Florida, which usually kicks off the festival season, has moved to Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation(most famously known for the place Phish played new years eve 2000) for next year's event taking place March 6th-9th 2008. The line-up announcement and tickets sales are coming in November and we'll hit you with it when it happens. Phish at Big Cypress:

Battles are releasing a new EP, Tonto+, featuring live tracks and and remixes from their stellar full length of this year, Tonto.

Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance will finally be released on DVD, which means that now you have to pay for it instead of downloading it for free on the live music torrent sites.

New Eminem track might be here.

Of Montreal will be at the Variety Playhouse on November 20th. Tickets are on sale today so get them quick because this will sell out.

Opeth and Dream Theater will be touring together in the US next year. No word if their coming here yet. Opeth vid:

White Rabbits will be at The Earl November 6th.

Before playing at the Earl October 22nd, Japan's Boris will be playing at Criminal Records at 4pm in the afternoon. I highly recommend checking them out:

Morrissey will be at The Tabernacle on November 5th.

Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothing to F@ck with, and they cleared the first ever Beatles sample.
